I’ve been doing administrative tasks for over 30 years! Things have changed so much in that time frame. Now I can virtually run my business from anywhere in the world with the phone in my pocket

I remember when running a Guide Unit I used to fill forms using carbon-copy paper and lots of handwriting per form! That would take hours, now a few keystrokes on my laptop and any form is done. Designed, printed and distributed all without leaving my desk.

I love technology, the internet and all the good it does. I like learning new ways of doing things whilst getting better each day with technologies I already know. As well as getting to grips with software changes and updates on a regular basis! I have experience of building websites with WordPress, which I particularly enjoy. This has been for a church, my childcare business, a gamer’s business and more. Have a good look around I built all of this. So if you hate tech, Just Ask Janice to help.

I’ve set up and administered Facebook Pages and Groups for both my own businesses and community groups. In the pages this includes putting together images in Canva or PhotoCollage to use as well as the copy.

I like making designs in Canva, like my logo, banners for Facebook, a background for Zoom and the Virtual Debit Cards I use.. I also use The Gimp and formerly PagePlus and CoralDraw. I’ve made posters, PDF documents, letterheads, 3 page tri-fold and A5 leaflets and booklets.

The Google Suite of software is great. I’ve used Google Calendars for multiple people to share. As well as multiple Google Calendars for one person to use! I use Photos, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Mail. Within a week of launch in the UK I was implementing the new Google Appointments Scheduling for a client’s website.

I can make multi-page spreadsheets and documents for businesses and other organisations. I’ve used spreadsheets for accounting and other record keeping too.

I’ve run a major fundraising campaign for a church, I led a toddler group, I was the Guider in Charge at both Rainbow and Guide Units, I’ve run my own sales and childcare businesses. I’ve organised events on a large and small scale for all ages. Including concerts, open gardens weekends, shopping evenings, sponsored walks, Guide camps and days out.
